A few missing shingles or one leak around a vent or chimney can usually be repaired. If the shingles are curling, losing granules or leaking in several places, replacement often makes more sense. We document the damage and work through the claim with you and your insurance company. How long does a typical asphalt shingle roof last here? Many asphalt shingle roofs in the Cincinnati area last somewhere around 20 to 30 years. The actual lifespan depends on the shingle line, attic ventilation and how the roof was installed.
